The Driver’s Edge is holding a performance driving event at Motorsport Ranch in Cresson, TX on December 5-6. I will be out there in my MR2 along with a few of our shop cars. Is anyone here planning to attend?
For those of you that are unfamiliar with The Driver’s Edge, it is a high performance driving school that allows participants the opportunity drive their own car on a full road course with a professional instructor beside you. It is an exciting and safe way to get into road racing, without breaking the bank. For $295 you get 8, 25-30 minute track sessions in your own car (4 per day), professional one-on-one instruction, classroom instruction and much more. Even if you choose not to enroll in the class, you are still welcome to come out and ride along with some of the more experienced drivers to get a feel for what road racing is all about. You can find more information on their website, www.thedriversedge.net.
If you are planning to attend, PM or call me. We are working on getting a group rate set up to bring down the cost a bit. Contact me and I’ll fill you in on the details.

There is a weekly DDD meet & eat and we would love for you and your friends to join us! We do this EVERY Saturday night, rain or shine, sleet or snow, someone will show up. Don’t be a stranger!
Big parking lot next to Baja’s Mexican Grill in Grapevine, TX, off William D Tate.
Address:
1212 William D Tate Ave
Grapevine, TX 76051
(817) 481-3422
When Is It?
Each and every Saturday night. The meet officially starts at 8pm, and lasts until we get tired of looking at each other! (generally around 11pm-ish)
Feel free to drop in anytime during the meet. We usually walk away from our cars in the parking lot and go inside to eat at around 9:00-ish, and return to the parking lot later after everyone is done eating. If you get there and wonder where everyone is, we are probably eating.
Besides Baja’s, there are several other restaurant choices in the same parking lot, and most of us actually prefer to eat at this place called “EL TACO H” which is right next door to Baja’s. It actually shares a kitchen with Baja’s, and is basically the same food, but whereas Baja’s is always crowded on a saturday night and is a full service restaurant with bar, El Taco H gives you the same quality food from the same kitchen, in a less-crowded self-service atmosphere, (go order at the counter and wait for your number to be called) for considerably less money. You will see Baja’s sign from the street first though. Also even though El Taco H does not have a bar, you can order beer or margaritas through them anyway and they will walk through the kitchen over to Baja’s bar and get your drink for you and bring it back to Taco H. They have excellent margaritas made with good tequila, I highly reccomend them and I am picky about margaritas.
We want to gather as much support for these meets as possible, so please try to make it if you can, and please bring your friends and significant others (if they are interested in going that is lol). The more interesting cars we can get parked together in the lot, the better these things will be, so everyone is welcome! And of course regular attenders are appreciated more than one-timers, so come back for next week’s meet if you can swing it!
There Are A Few IMPORTANT Rules Here:
1. No burnouts, drifting, loud music, excessive horn honking, or other obnoxious activities in the parking lot during the meet.
2. Don’t do stupid shit in the parking lot.
3. DON’T DO STUPID SHIT IN THE PARKING LOT!!!
We like our meet location, and we don’t want to get kicked out. We have been going to the same location for a while now and the cops usually leave us alone for the most part. Do you know why that is? ITS BECAUSE WE DON’T DO STUPID SHIT IN THE PARKING LOT.
Clear?
We thought so.
Please come out, help support the local car scene as well as the site, make some good friends, and have fun!
Last weekend at the Cloud Factory Motorsports Gymkhana/Drift event Spencer (wannaboost?) got a chance to try out his new setup on his car and have some fun. He did very well with his car even after stepping down from a mild KA-T build to a stock NA build.
Spencer is someone that knows what dedication is. He is out at an event at least 1 a month tearing it up and having fun with his car. No matter what obstacle he has Spencer always seems to make it happen.
Spencer is also a team member of Team Slipmachine and probably one of the best drifters on this site. If you need any advice he is a great person to go to.
Great job Spencer keep it up and we at Drift Drag and Drive hope to see you get better in your sport for years to come.
